Frequently Asked Questions About QR Codes

Find practical answers about creating, customizing, downloading, scanning, printing and troubleshooting QR codes.

What is a QR code?

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores information such as text, a website address, contact details or Wi-Fi connection data. A compatible camera or scanner reads the pattern and interprets the encoded data.

How do I create a QR code for free?

Open the SALMAN QR generator, choose the QR type, enter the requested information, customize the design if needed, generate the code and download it.

Does every QR code need a URL?

No. A URL is only one type of QR content. Wi-Fi, vCard, email, phone, SMS, calendar, location and other formats can use structured data instead of a website URL.

Do static QR codes expire?

A static QR code does not have a built-in expiration date. It remains useful while the information encoded in it is still valid, such as a working website URL or contact record.

Can I put a PDF or image inside a QR code?

A QR code has limited data capacity, so large files should not be embedded directly. Instead, host the file at a public HTTPS address and encode that address in the QR code.

Can I add a logo to a QR code?

Yes, but the logo should remain small enough that the scanner can still identify the QR modules. Strong contrast, a clear quiet zone and testing on multiple devices are important.

What is the best QR code color?

Use strong contrast, normally a dark QR pattern on a light background. Avoid low-contrast combinations and test the final printed or displayed code before publishing it.

What QR format is best for printing?

SVG is generally a good choice for large print because it is vector-based. PNG is convenient for digital use and many ordinary print jobs.

Why is my QR code not scanning?

Check contrast, size, quiet-zone spacing, distortion, glare and whether a logo covers important modules. Test the code from a normal viewing distance with more than one phone.

Can a QR code be edited after I print it?

A static QR code cannot have its encoded data changed after printing. A dynamic QR system can redirect the destination later, but it requires server-side infrastructure.

Are QR codes safe?

A QR code is a way to encode data, not a guarantee that the destination is trustworthy. Before opening a scanned link, check the destination domain and avoid entering sensitive information on suspicious pages.

Does SALMAN QR require an account?

The basic browser-based static tools are designed to work without an account. Advanced cloud features such as dynamic redirects and analytics would require additional infrastructure.

Google Search note: FAQ content is still useful for visitors and topical coverage, but Google no longer shows the FAQ rich-result feature for ordinary sites. This page therefore uses visible, user-first FAQ content rather than relying on FAQ structured data.
